VELVETY FLOWERS

FEATURED on a card I made this month
I created this card using the magnificent papers from Meg's Garden

I just adore working with these beautiful velvety luscious flowers .

This card is perfect for a celebration … birthday, wedding, anniversary or a special occasion.
The base is white cardstock and I folded the card in 3 to create an interesting fold.
The front of the card is laden with the beautiful velvet flowers,
leaves and clock. All available from Meg’s Garden.
I layered the  cut out scroll and  a Tim Holtz die cut as a base to attach the flowers,
 leaves, muslin  and clock .
The inside reveals the paper with a perfect cluster of flowers and a birds nest.
I added a stitched layered heart to finish it off .
The back of the card also showcases a large heart…
I used the delightful Forget –me-Nots paper range  … just perfect for cards .

Items from Meg's Garden
Birds in Forget me nots.. P6303
Nesting P6301
Leaves copper and rust
Velvet flowers
Clock

Other items used
White card stock. Corner flourish ( Imaginarium designs) brads, Nestabilities heart die cuts ..

thanks for popping by everyone and
extra thanks for taking the time to leave me some love

hugz to each of you

I ADORE nature and gardening, so I decided to go with this theme.

FOR the LOVE of NATURE
I love to watch the dappled light as it dances across the leaves and changes color as the shadows form in the late afternoon .I have developed a large garden where I can become totally lost in my own world...oh how I adore nature.
more journaling hidden in the rolls .. it reads -- Autumn, this is the season of the SOUL . Gloriously warm with golden light . Endless soft still days. This season invigorates me like no other and my energy becomes boundless when the heat of summer moves away and the crisp air of autumn moves in .. my love of INTENSE gardening returns ...

case file #24

a striking color palette this week
Red, grey and white with a kiss of pink

I used a recycled card for this case file as it reminded me of my dancing years ...love this palette but I almost didn't upload this layout as I am not that happy with it ...
sorry about the photo, it makes the gray look black and the shiny silver metal element looks grey .. oh well it is good for me to let go of my perfectionism sometimes !!! LOL

EVIDENCE
silver accents, sparkly things, circles, white washed metal elements, red paint on title
TESTIMONY
3 interesting things about me.. I loved to dance, I loved to wear read, I loved sparkly things .

THE COLOR ROOM #115

"TOGETHER"
This Layout is a symbol of our LOVE x

I named this Layout "TOGETHER" as we have been connected for over 45 years
and still so much in love with each other .. I feel so blessed to be with my soul mate.
as I was creating this page I used lots of symbols that mean something to me

Clock hands ( chippies are cut into pieces) --  represent TIME
Throat Chakra - BLUE --- means speaking my truth and self expression
Solar plexes Chakra - YELLOW--- means connecting with my inner guidance
Crown Chakra - WHITE --- being authentic and actualising my purpose
Heart Chakra - PINK/GREEN --- opening the heart and finding balance
FLOWERS--- beauty, love and romance
FOLIAGE --- protection, refuge and safety.
METAL --- a sign of strength
FIBRE/FABRIC -- the tapestry of life .

BUTTERFLY...
a powerful sign of new beginnings, and emerging in to beauty and transformation , joy and bliss

When our son was killed 13 years ago, my world was falling apart .
I had to dig deep within myself to find a part of me with the strength to go on and live my life .
Mark was always so supportive of my art .
I discovered Scrap-booking 3 years after his death
and this has played a huge part of my healing journey .
I dedicate every page I do to you, Mark, and I know you are with me in spirit  .. love you forever xoxo
Baden and I now Facilitate the Bereaved Parents support group ( TCF ) here in Adelaide
a much needed facility helping others heal and move on with life .
the symbol of  TCF is a BUTTERFLY ...

I want to say how much each and everyone of you have played a very important part in my life
and in my healing !!  I really mean that from my heart .
the encouragement and love from each of you wonderful followers and fellow
scrap-bookers, means the world to me.
I am so thankful and blessed to be connected to this fabulous Scrapping/blogging world
you will never know just how much each of you mean to me ,
you have all helped open my heart again .
THANKYOU !

The END of my TERM

over at Once Upon a .. SKETCH
here is my very last sketch for OUAS....
THE THEME IS BIRTHDAYS

I want to say "a very special thanks to Nadia "
I remember how excited I was when you asked me to join in with the team 15 months ago.

How lucky I felt to be given this amazing, artistic opportunity, and Oh what a journey it has been !!!!
Once upon a Sketch marked the beginning of my DT journey.
since then I have been asked by so many people to join their teams
and I am so grateful and humbled to be recognised in this way
big hugz to you Nadia , I will always remember you.
Thanks for the fabulous Ride !!!! mwah xoxxo

Below is Nadia's beautiful sketch .
We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "BIRTHDAYS" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below. Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

Ideas for Journalling:most memorable birthday celebration for you or anyone in your family, the last birthday you celebrated and tell us your thoughts on turning this age, your child's/other family member's birthday and your thoughts on their age, a birthday that was a turning point in your life and your excitement/fears or other thoughts you had, an upcoming birthday for you or anyone and your thoughts, the best birthday present you ever received/gave and why?. You can also base your layout on a non - person birthday. This means your birthday theme can be based on : a pet, a business venture, a milestone anniversary etc etc. Its up to you how you interpret "BIRTHDAYS

I chose to use a pic of my grandson celebrating his 13th birthday
Becoming a teenager is a huge milestone
happy birthday DAKOTA xoxox

"REMEMBER "

the magnificent Imaginarium Designs chippies ... these steampunk cogs are one of my faves

hope you are inspired to join in the fun over at Once Upon a ....Sketch

thanks for dropping by and taking the time to leave me some love
I love reading all the words you leave for me
hugz to you all
